Clear answers to Sri Lanka's money questions
CeylonCalc started with a frustration we all share: working out import duty, take-home pay or a loan instalment in Sri Lanka usually means digging through PDFs, outdated forum posts and spreadsheets that nobody trusts. The numbers matter. They decide whether you can afford a car, a home loan or a career move, yet getting them is needlessly hard.
So we built the tools we wanted ourselves: clean, fast calculators grounded in current local rules, that give you a clear answer and show their working. No logins, no paywalls, no selling your data. Just the math, done right, free for everyone.
Who's behind thisI'm a software engineer based in Sri Lanka, working mainly in React and TypeScript. CeylonCalc started because I kept needing to work out EPF payouts, loan instalments, or PAYE tax and kept hitting the same wall: outdated forum posts, PDFs nobody wants to read, and spreadsheets with no way to check if the formula was even right.
I'm not a tax advisor or accountant, and CeylonCalc isn't financial advice. What I do bring is care about getting the arithmetic exactly right and showing the working. Every calculator and article is built and checked directly against the actual Sri Lankan Acts and regulator guidance, not secondhand summaries. If a rate or rule changes, I update it.
I build and maintain CeylonCalc myself. "We" in articles refers to CeylonCalc as a publication, not a hidden team.
